Can you help me by giving some guidelines. How accounting is involved in banking jobs? What types of jobs do an accountant may have in bank? For a bank type job what further studies are needed?

@7ifrah Accounting is valuable in all businesses, including banking. I suggest you go to dol.gov and search for the “Occupational Outlook” handbook. You will be able to search for career info about any job that interests you. Word of warning – banking is under pressure because of the Great Recession and starting a career in the field might be a little risky.

Accounting is the foundation for decision making, whether a profit-oriented business, a non-profit, a governmental agency, or a bank. A degree in Accounting is a great way to get a job in finance. I’d suggest that you just type “how do I start a career in banking” in your search bar, and begin to read. You could also search YouTube for “Careers in Banking.”

Accounting always gets overrated by the media. They only tell you about the success stories. I’m a CPA with an MBA and only make $38k here in Florida. It took 6 years to become a CPA and it was the biggest mistake of my life.

I like the needs and wants categories, it really makes it easier to cut some things out. Definitely puts things in perspective…I can live without cable, now that I think about it the rabbit ears can get HD local channels. And I know there’s a way to keep my cell phone service and mobile internet while saving money. I’m using a prepaid service called StraightTalk and it cut the bill in half.
